Meet Duke Brothers
Born and raised in the Nashville area, Tom Duke had many adventures in his life. He had been in the air force, sold Electrolux vacuums, and been a banker. From Tennessee to Texas to California, Mr. Duke would eventually find himself in Atlanta before moving to High Point, where he had lived for more than 30 years.
Mr. Duke made the decision to begin building on his land around 1987. He started a construction company focused on new homes, and subcontracted most of the work until his oldest son, Steve, came to work for him in the early 1990s. He lived in the lovely, early 20th century farm house on the top of the hill for almost 34 years.
With a light Southern drawl, Steve still jokes he is from California, having been born in Los Angeles County. He spent his early childhood in Atlanta, but has lived most of his life in High Point, NC on the 70 original acres Tom purchased off Gordon Road.
After high school, Steve learned the trades of a home builder, including framing, brick masonry, landscape grading, and drafting. He joined his father in the early 1990s, and together they soon managed all of the construction on Quail Run Farm.
Steve enjoys playing drums, riding horses, home-winemaking, and traveling to his mother's native England every few years to visit extended family.
Don't let the fact that Matthew Duke was born, raised, and continues to live in High Point fool you. With the spirit of a nomad, his experiences are varied and wide.
As early as his teens, Matt began to learn the trade of a trim carpenter. He has worked for such prestigious names as Henredon and Ralph Lauren where his work has appeared in Architectural Digest and the bi-annual High Point furniture shows.
Matthew has worked in and out of state constructing staircases and custom moldings. His most unique experience has involved trips to the private island of Mustique in the West Indies where he worked as a carpenter on many of the villas, as well as project manager on Shania Twain's holiday home.
In 2007, Matt has acquired his general contractor's license and joined the family business. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his son Ethan, traveling abroad, white water kayaking, mountain biking, and riding horses.

To help grow Duke Brothers, Lisa obtained her real estate license in 2005 and is now a new home sales specialist. Her newest adventure is with J. Parris Gray, Realtors.
Lisa met Steve in 2001 when she had trouble with the crown molding in her dining room. They married in 2003, and Steve was able to come back to the land on which he grew up when he and Lisa moved to Quail Run in 2004. Lisa enjoys salsa dancing, learning about wine,

Gavin was brought into the company (and the world) in 2006. A man of influence and skilled manipulator, he has quickly moved up the ranks to his current position as "the boss."
In his spare time he enjoys tasting things most of us wouldn't dream of putting in our mouths; ironically, spitting out anything resembling a vegetable; dancing; and receiving tickle attacks from daddy.
